#WalkInPride: Europa Art shows support for the LGBTQ+ community

At the occasion of Pride Month, Europa Art is taking engagements for a more stylish society

Like every year in South Africa, the month of October comes under the colours of the rainbow, as it’s synonymous with pride, love and exchange. As Pride Month pays homage to the ongoing struggles of the LGBTQ+ community, the illustrious Europa Art is showing its support with the launch of the Spring/Summer 2021 #WalkInPride campaign – offering shoppers fashion-forward styles that champion marginalised communities in the process.

There are plenty of statement-making, attention-grabbing items from the exclusive #WalkInPride collection worth bringing into your closet that will support a bigger cause, too. Go short and sweet with easy block heels or low-heel sandals – a staple in the summer shoe repertoire – in a kaleidoscope of hues such as watermelon, bubblegum pink, tangerine and steel blue. Or, consider slipping on a pair of canary yellow, acid green or two-tone stilettos or slingbacks, and style them with your favourite summer dress, jumpsuit or denim shorts.

Europa Art is committed to driving social change and, subsequently, building a more equitable and inclusive society. “Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse group of creatives, stylists, artists, designers, employees, customers and industry leaders who inspire us every day. This beautiful, colourful campaign is dedicated to them,” explains Europa Art Group director and fashion buyer, Melina Lambrakis. “We walk in pride alongside these people by staying present, showing up and spotlighting the diverse identities that make us stronger, together.” The group’s ultimate vision is a world in which all people are empowered. Commenting on the new campaign, Europa Art brand ambassador, Pearl Thusi, says: “It’s always an honour to represent minorities that are marginalised, and I love working with brands that are aligned with the same ideals. I’ve walked in pride in and with Europa Art shoes and I hope that many others join us in this endeavor to support members of the LGBTQ+ community.”
