27 Boxes: Sweet News All Around.

Sweet News All Around.

A sweet treat never hurt nobody!

As we welcome and embrace the changes in weather, 27 Boxes would also love to embrace the few warm and exciting changes it has made to its tenant list. We would love to welcome Cake&Co to the 27 Boxes family.  Cake&Co is a cake boutique and café. So if you’re looking for the best cake in town, a fantastic venue or someone to host your event, this is the place for you!

With cakes for any occasion, scrumptious savoury treats and an eye for everything beautiful, Cake&Co will make your event the talk of the town. But don’t just take our word for it, pop in for a slice of the best cake around and a great cup of coffee! Perfect for families and a great spot to host your little ones’ next party!

With the sweet news of Cake&Co joining our family, we can’t ignore some of the biggest news that has graced 27 Boxes this year. We are elated for Palesa Mokubung, designer of Mantsho Lifestyle, a boutique fashion store proudly situated in 27 Boxes. We would like to congratulate her on becoming the first African Designer to collaborate with H&M.

Last week, Mokubung took the country by storm when it was announced that the Swedish retailer, H&M had picked her as their first African Designer which the renowned fashion retailer would collaborate with.  When speaking to City Press , Mokubung mentioned that she did not see it coming: “Never did I think I would have a collection that would be available in South African stores as well as flagship stores in the US, UK, France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Mexico, Chile and Israel.” We couldn’t be any happier for her and can’t wait to revel in the pieces that will stem from the collaboration.

However, one thing we’ve continuously been looking forward to these past few months is Kenny Jules’ Wardrobe Sale. Each month she brings out some of her finest pre-loved garments, both local and international brands, and resells it to fashion lovers in Johannesburg right here at 27 Boxes. Not only do we love the sale prices, but it also helps us get into the habit of shopping sustainably. The launch of her Wardrobe Sale also featured a Fashion Sustainability Talk which dived deeper into the topic of fashion sustainability and added some context to the sale. It was then we understood that buying second-hand quality garments is actually seen as a way of recycling and contributes to the fight towards a greener environment.
